Why have you not yet got yourself a Nintendo Switch? Seriously, why? I got one shortly after it was released and I must say that it was worth every penny! Nintendo Switch games are super fun so far! There are many things that you may not know about the switch that are absolutely kick ass, and I want to share them with you.

1. Controller Customization
People often ask me why I am an Android person rather than an Apple person (again, I am talking to you, Mom), and that is because of how Android gives you much more creative freedom, and that is important to me! I LOVE being able to customize and “switch” things up.
The first obvious customizable feature of the Nintendo Switch is the controllers of course – Sure – other systems have interchangeable controllers but the possibilities with this thing are endless. There are so many ways to play!
Check out these different variations of the controllers, which define a big part of the name of this gaming system – the Nintendo SWITCH.
Free Hand Dual Controller (1 Player)
I don’t prefer this option, but once you get used to it, it is pretty simple! You don’t need a connector to play with both controllers and knowing that this is an option is never a bad thing! 🙂 I hear that the true gamers prefer it this way, but I am just a dork that plays for occasional fun so you have to try it to see if you like playing this way. 🙂
Single Controller Use (For 1 or 2 Players)
This option is for those who love the compact small controllers on their own. You can use one by your self, or use both when in 2-player mode. I am not one of the people who like to play this way but I have noticed that many people don’t mind it.
Dual Controller Connector
This option is just like the above, except the black part that you see in the middle is a controller connection that comes with the Nintendo Switch when you buy it. Is perfect for those who don’t like playing with the single controller alone (they are quite small), or they don’t want to pay extra money to buy a pro controller or additional accessories. I use this connector anytime I am playing alone. I really like the control I have when I use this!
Controller on Console
Simply slide the controllers onto the sides of the console monitor and BOOM, up-close and on-the-go ready play mode. Definitely a fun and easy way to play.
Single Expanding Connectors (1 or 2 Player)
I have this set myself for when I have a friend playing with me and I LOVE them. If you only have 1 of the 2 controller connectors and a friend wants to play with you, you have to give up that connector so that another controller is free. So why not have these available for those moments?

Steering Wheel Controller Connectors
These are great for the BEST GAME ON NINTENDO SWITCH – Mario Kart Deluxe 8! (Note that the steering wheel connector isn’t needed to play in steering mode, because the controllers can be put on steering mode alone, but these connectors give you a more realistic feel). I like playing Mario Kart without the motion control, but a lot of people love these. As you can see, different strokes for different folks!

2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Yes, I am putting a game alone as one of the reasons to get a Nintendo Switch! I played Mario Kart 8 on the Wii and LOVED it so I knew it also would be good on the Switch.
When people hear that I like to play Mario Kart, they automatically think that I am talking about the SUPER OLD SCHOOL versions (on Nintendo 64, for example) and assume that it is one of those games that is best to stick to the classics to, but no my friends – Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is WAY better.
The graphics, the speed, the customization opportunities, the tracks, the music, and play modes have expanded in the best way possible! This game is also a great reason to get the Online Membership, which I will explain further in a bit! In Online mode you can play online with real people all around the world, swap friend codes and play with your best friend across town and more. You can even talk to all the players in your game over the super-cool voice app that I will also expand on later in this post!

3. Online Membership & Nintendo Switch Games
Okay, as I was explaining above, the Online Membership is a must-have add-on to your Switch. For only 3.99 a month, you get access to a ton of amazing features like the following:
Play Online With Anyone
With the online membership you are given a friend code that you can share with anyone in the world who also has a online membership and can play any online-compatible game with them, see when they are online, what game they are playing, and even talk to them online using the phone app while you play.
Chat Online Live
As mentioned above, you can use the “Nintendo Switch Online” app on your phone, which allows you to voice-chat with all the people you are playing with. Surprisingly enough, not a lot of people are aware of this feature so take advantage of it!
FREE Classic Nintendo Games (NES and Super NES)
When you have the online membership you can download a free bundle of games that are from the classic Nintendo games and Super Nintendo games that will take you back to the 90s!
