Oops, I did it again – and decided to write another post about my obsession with the styles products of the late 90’s and the early 2000s, or “Y2K” eras. But while you’re anticipating the upcoming contents of this post, I know you’re thinking “That’s Hot” to yourself. Because you too, adore all the nostalgic things that used to be referred to as being “da bomb” or “all that”. (God, early 2000’s slang was so bad, yet so good). 🤣
Those of us who still have a soft spot for this era get MEGA excited when we see new products inspired by that time or when fashion trends from then come back into style. Although, some of those looks need to stay in the past for good, like pretty much everything Ashley Tisdale used to wear:
What was her stylist thinking?! (Although, I too, was one of the ones who sported bright scarves with my t-shirts) 🤣
Modern Day Finds Inspired by the Early 2000s
You can’t bring yourself back to the 2000’s, but you can bring the 2000s back to you – with just a few clicks! 🤣
1. Hello Kitty Dress 🎀
Surely there’s some modern-day teens reading this, who wish they’d been a teen back in the early 2000s. If that is you (or if you can still pull something like this off), then you need this one. You can complete the look with some platform sneakers, choker, & funky up-do. 😍
2. Early 2000s Cosmic Crop Top
This crop top alone will make you look like you stepped out of the year 2000 (and even more so if you add a pair of similar, neon shades).
3. Early 2000’s Christina Aguilera Inspired Pants
One of the fashion icons of the late 90’s and early 2000’s (and my all-time favorite artist of all time) – Christina Aguilera, inspired us all back in the day with these styles that you can still find 2 decades later! 💜
Patchwork Denim Jeans
It is highly likely that you adore these if you still remember Christina Aguilera rocking similar jeans at the 2001 VMA’s! If you don’t remember, here you go, girl:

Argyle Pants
You can also steal Xtina’s look with these adorable pants that she flawlessly pulled off in the “Come on Over Baby” music video. 💙 Did you know that pattern on these pants are actually called “argyle“? I never knew that until today, so I had always referred to them as “checkered plaid”. Anyways, you can snatch these at the link below!
4. Heart Printed Jean Skirt 💜
A cute way to bring back the early 2000s? This skirt that looks like it came fresh off the set of “Lizzie McGuire“. 🌸
5. Butterfly Wing Sunglasses
Y2K vibes wouldn’t be complete without the “Butterfly Effect” – available in multiple colors to match any outfit.
6. Daisy Sandals 🌼
Daisies being patched on everything imaginable was also a major trend of the 90’s, but luckily it stuck around with in the early 2000s for a while. Now, all we have are daisies on our nightstand (totally great song though).
7. Y2K Early 2000’s Inspired Jewelry
The jewelry back then was always vivid, fun & out there – boy, do I miss that!
Early 2000s Choker Necklaces 💚
This is one of the trends that has managed to stick around, but definitely not enough – choker necklaces! As someone who sports them almost daily, I highly recommend you do too!
Early 2000s Chunky Rings 🌼
I swear, I collected these kind of rings more than my grandmother collected beanie babies. At least it feels that way because I went through more of them than most girls did with scrunchies!
8. Butterfly Cardigan & Dress Set
I stumbled across this cute-as-heck dress & cardigan set on Etsy and instantly was in awe! Pair this duo with some chunky, white sneakers and you’re set to either rock on the regular or show off at your next Y2K party.
9. Early 2000s Von Dutch Trucker Hats
One of the many styles of hats that every celebrity in the early 2000’s wore with literally anything? Von Dutch trucker hats, of course! You likely first laid eyes on them when Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie often wore them on their hit show “The Simple Life“.
I wasn’t into hats as a kid, so I am going to need these to make a come back! (and apparently Kylie Jenner agrees). The official Von Dutch store still sells cute hats (such as the glittery pink one below), or if you want to take a DIY approach, there are plenty of patches available as well!
10. Lime Green Check Dungaree Dress
This list couldn’t be complete without a classic, funky “overalls” dress! To top it all off, it looks great with the studded belts that we hardly get to see anymore.
