Marilyn Monroe Quotes
1. Money and Being Wonderful
This is the first, real authentic Marilyn Monroe quote on this post, and one of my favorites. To me, this quote simply means that when you are doing something you love and are good at, the money doesn’t fulfill you as much as the enjoyment that you get out of it does.
2. Being Told You’re Pretty
This one is especially true. You may not think it makes a difference when they get older, but it truly does do wonders for their self confidence. Every little girl wants to hear those words. She hit the nail on the head:
3. Fear and Regret
According to Marilyn, fear and regret are stupid. Now, avoiding fear and feeling regret isn’t always possible but being fearless and having no regrets in the times that matter, certainly do contribute to success.
4. Fantasy
Marilyn has expressed in the past that she would like to be appreciated for more than just her looks, which probably relates to this quote about being in other people fantasies.
5. Rich Men vs. Pretty Girls
One of everyone’s favorite (and sassy) Marilyn Monroe quotes! You have got to give the girl some props. She makes an excellent point!
6. Burdens and Glamour
She isn’t the first to admit that all of the glamour and glitz often goes hand in hand with not-so-glamorous burdens.
Fun Facts

3. She was fascinated with Abraham Lincoln
Marilyn had a rough upbringing, going from foster home to foster home, having her mother being institutionalized for her mental health, and never knowing her father. Understandably, she would seek the ideal “father figure“, which in her eyes, was Abraham Lincoln.
“Most people can admire their fathers, but I never had one. I need someone to admire. My father is Abraham Lincoln…I mean I think of Lincoln as my father. He was wise and kind and good. He is my ideal, Lincoln. I love him.” – Marilyn Monroe

4. She had Endometriosis
It is not clear if this condition caused them, but Marilyn did suffer multiple miscarriages in her life. It is likely that Endometriosis contributed to those unfortunate losses.
Endometriosis is a medical condition that occurs when the lining of the uterus, called the endometrium, grows in other places, such as the fallopian tubes, ovaries or along the pelvis. When that lining breaks down, like the regular lining in the uterus that produces the menstruation, it has nowhere to go. This causes cysts, heavy periods, severe cramps and even infertility.

5. Before fame, She worked in a Factory
When she was discovered by a photographer during World War II, Marilyn made a living making drones for the Army. The photographer was tasked with photographing the attractive employees at work and she stood out to him with her “half child, half-woman” look.
6. She was never on time
Many of her coworkers on set despised the fact that she was often late arriving on the set when shooting films. In 1962, the same year of her death, Marilyn was fired from her role in “Something’s Got to Give,” due to her excessive lateness and no-shows. Even though she was re-hired, she died before the film was able to be completed.
7. She was on the cover of the first issue of Playboy
You can even get a copy for yourself here on Amazon: Playboy Magazine – Marilyn Monroe.
Hugh Hefner, the founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine, passed on September 17th, 2017, bought the plot next to Marilyn’s final resting place before he died, which is where is now rests, right next to Marilyn.
Let’s just say it plain: there’s only one goddess queen and sexy mama of all the Playboy cover girls who could have anointed the magazine’s first issue in December 1953 and that is Marilyn Monroe.

Videos of Marilyn
Live Interview – 1955
Back in the days where the interviewer could smoke a cigarette while he is asking questions without anyone batting an eye. This first video is a raw interview from April 8th, 1955, on a show called “Person To Person“, and features Marilyn answering questions about various roles she has played in films, people who have helped her career, and her experience riding an elephant at a circus while petting a dog on the couch.
If you have never seen videos of her being interviewed before, you will be surprised about how timid she seems and how soft spoken she is.
