Just the other day, I was at the store in the laundry supplies section and I asked an older lady in the aisle if fabric softener and fabric conditioner were the same thing. (How am I supposed to know?!) She looked at me with a crooked grin on her face, with her eyes slightly bulged and said “Yes, they are the same thing.” and walked away.  I felt incredibly stupid, but shrugged it off and put the bottle of fabric softener, or, um fabric conditioner in the cart. Anyhow, now that I know that these things are the same thing, I can now utilize all these awesome alternative uses for it.

1. Remove deodorant marks from clothes

One of the most annoying things on this pretty little planet has to be those pitiful looking deodorant marks that get on your clothes even when you strategically try to glide on your scent stick as carefully as you can when you forget to put it on before dressing. However if you put it on before dressing, there is still a chance it will get on your top when you are putting it on. Now if you are like me, you have permanently switched to clear gel deodorant so you can avoid this, but if you don’t want to give up your powder deodorants, everything will be okay because you can simply wipe them away with fabric softener sheets.

2. Easily Pick Up Dust

This is by far my favorite way to use dryer sheets. Simply use them to wipe up pesky dust off of surfaces. Do you know how when you are cleaning your dryer vent and you get lint on the top of your dryer? Ditch the paper towels or wet wipes and use a dryer sheet to wipe it up without very much effort what-so-ever. You can also dust your TV, computer, desk, window blinds and entertainment centers.

3. Pet Hair Removal

As a pet owner, I can appreciate this one with every fiber of my being. There is nothing worse than realizing that you have a large patch of white kitty hair on your rear because you failed to check or didn’t successfully get it all off. Lint Rollers are too expensive and tedious so yet again, those sweet little dryer sheets can save the day. Simply rub the sheet on your clothes (or fabric) and TA-DA! Problem solved.

4. Eliminating Static

There are days where static messes with the best of us but don’t panic about the static affecting your hair because there’s an App for that. And by App, I mean dryer sheet.

5. Bug Repellent

Now everyone hates bugs in their house, and I am not suggesting that you ditch the pesticide this year, but if you notice a place in your home that needs an extra bug repelling kick, try placing a dryer sheet in that area.
